Today in class you will

  •  read about Ancient Greece's physical features
  • determine how physical geography impacted Ancient Greece

Why?
  • to develop your understanding of Ancient Greece
  • to develop your understanding of how geography impacts people
  • to understand how unique Ancient Greece was

DIRECTIONS    If you are waiting at any point, work with the Waiting Activities listed in the right-hand column of this page.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2.   Take the sheet from the black stand at the front of the room.         1 minute

3.    WORK TOGETHER - - - DO NOT RACE AHEAD       Open Greece Geography Read under Ancient Greece in Google Classroom.  With ONE other person at your group (if your group only has three, the three work together),               25 minutes
  1. read it aloud from start to finish 
  2. discuss possible answers to a question, then write by yourself (answers will not match)
  3. proceed to the next question.
4.  Wait for a different pair to finish.......then, pair your pairs                     15 minutes
  1. compare your answers
  2. make a list of the 5 most important main ideas about geography impacting Ancient Greece (each person write their own copy of the list)

3.  By yourself, in Google Classroom, complete the Geography and Ancient Greece Summary                    20 minutes
