  • further develop your understanding of government types 
  • compare the US government to Ancient Rome's

DIRECTIONS    If you are waiting at any point, work with the Waiting Activities listed in the right-hand column of this page.

1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).       1 minute

2a.  Check your GMail regarding your museum.
2b.  Check Aspen regarding Greece.

3.   In your scrap paper doc or on paper and by yourself without any resources, brainstorm as many words as you can think of that use the root "spect, spec, spic".        1 minute

4.    Whole class: discussion                10 minutes

5.   In your scrap paper doc, by yourself and without resources, complete a brain dump on Ancient Rome. Try to include the following:  Senate, consuls, patricians, plebians, citizens                 5 minutes

6.    Whole class: share                5 minutes

7.  Venn diagram
