    Why?
    • To practice identifying main ideas.
    • To synthesize information into a brief account.
    • To see the connection between human and physical geography.

    1.  Discuss with someone near you what you will be doing in class today and why (see above).   1 minute

    2.  You are picking up where you left off with yesterday's directions.
    • Finish reading the article in chunk and identifying main ideas in the two-column notes (this should be already done). Go to Google Classroom. Complete the summary assignment there.          10 minutes
    3. Make a copy of the Frayer model linked here. Use the folder icon next to the doc title to move it to your social studies folder. Complete the Frayer.        10 minutes

    4. Follow the directions in the document at this link.          10 minutes


    5. If it is not already open, open your World News Map.  It should be in Drive where you can easily find it.         2 minutes
    • Click share in the menu on the left, and make sure the setting is Public on the Web - can view.
    • Click on the three vertical dots next to the title of your map, and choose "embed on my site."
    • The embed code appears and is selected.  You just need to use CTRL + C to copy it. Change the width from "640" to "500" to fit your right column.
    6.  Follow the directions in the following video:  Blog Width.  Please ask for help if you need it.          4 minutes


    7.  Follow the directions in the following video: Using Embed Code on Your Blog.  Please ask for help if you need it. The pop up window doesn't appear in the video, but you can listen and follow the direction.          4 minutes
